Where Nature and Harmony Meet

Harmony has been shaping how I approach this year. It’s influencing how I pay attention, how I relate to my surroundings, and how I choose to work with my energy as life unfolds.

As part of that exploration, I began looking for teachings that could deepen my understanding of the elements in a way that felt lived-in and practical. I wanted something rooted in the natural world—something that translated easily into daily life. That search led me to The Green Witch book by Arin Murphy-Hiscock.

What resonated immediately is the way the book frames harmony as a relationship. Connection to nature grows through observation, intention, and responsiveness. The elements aren’t distant ideas; they are already shaping our homes, our environments, and the way energy moves through our days.

Reading this book helped me notice how strongly Earth shows up in my life. Grounding, stability, and structure come naturally. My spaces reflect that steadiness. There’s comfort in rootedness, in knowing what holds me and where I stand.

As I sat with these teachings, another layer began to surface. Harmony isn’t created by grounding alone. It’s shaped by the interplay between elements.

This year, my attention is turning toward Fire. Fire represents movement, creative momentum, and the energy that carries ideas forward. When Fire is present alongside Earth, balance takes on a different quality. The ground remains steady, while energy begins to circulate. Direction becomes clearer. Life feels more engaged.

What the book offers is a way to work with this balance through everyday living—through how spaces are arranged, through awareness of seasons and cycles, and through noticing when energy wants to move and when it needs to settle. Harmony becomes something practiced through relationship rather than managed through effort.

The insight that stays with me most is this: harmony isn’t about having every element in equal measure. It’s about noticing which energies are dominant, which are quieter, and how they can support one another more fully.

This year, I’m allowing Earth to continue grounding me while giving Fire more room to move through my life. That awareness has been clarifying. It’s shifting how I make choices, how I create space, and how I engage with what’s calling for attention.
