A Soulful Evening in Sylvan Park

Tonight, I found myself truly savoring my first experience at Cafe Nonna in Nashville (Sylvan Park). The atmosphere, the conversation, the flavors, the feeling of slowing down long enough to actually enjoy where I was instead of rushing through it.

It reminded me that feeding your soul is often found in experiences like this. Sitting across from people you enjoy. Sharing food that feels thoughtfully made. Letting yourself be fully present for an evening instead of mentally living in tomorrow’s to-do list.

Some places carry a certain energy. You walk away feeling fuller than the meal itself could explain.
The older I get, the more I appreciate experiences that invite you to pause, connect, and genuinely take life in for a moment. That kind of soul nourishment stays with you.

About: Caffé Nonna, established in 1999 in Sylvan Park, is the result of over 100 years of rustic Italian recipes and rural cooking techniques. Chef Dan’s grandmother, ‘Nonna’ Esther Carapella, developed her family recipes in the Abruzzi region of Italy during the 1920s while raising her family. These recipes were imported to the United States by her family over the next 50 years. Her grandson, Chef Daniel Maggipinto, opened Caffé Nonna in honor of classic recipes and her favorite saying “To eat well is to live well!”.
